Glenda was accepted as a member of the NHS Directory in March 2005.
The House of Lords debate on Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), and the Government's response, made it clear that Complementary and Alternative Therapies should be made widely available on the NHS.
The NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners plays a major role in bringing this about. The Directory is published by the NHS Trusts Association (NHSTA) the leading primary care organisation after consultation with the Department of Health and leading Professional CAM organisations and associations. This new ground breaking directory is part of the NHSTA's commitment to helping make CAM more widely available within the NHS.
The NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners provides GPs, Hospitals, Primary care trusts, Practice Nurses and health visitors with a comprehensive, postcode searchable, immediate access resource of CAM practitioners who are properly qualified and committed to working with the National Health Service.
